For Twilight fans, Christmas is going to come a few weeks early this year. Summit announced today that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third movie in the highly popular teen vampire/werewolf saga, will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on December 4, 2010.

In keeping with the successful release strategies of the first two movies, Summit will be releasing Eclipse on a non-traditional release day and will hype the release with a special midnight availability. So, whether you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob, one thing both camps can agree upon is that they’ll be staying up late on Friday December 3 to make sure they are the first ones to own the latest offering.

Summit will be releasing two versions in both DVD and Blu-ray formats. There will be a movie only version ($28.99 DVD / $34.99 Blu-ray suggested retail) and a feature-laden 2 Disc Special Edition ($32.99 DVD / $40.99 Blu-ray suggested retail). The 2 Disc Special Edition Blu-ray will also be a combo pack containing both DVD and Blu-ray versions of the film.

Sabrina Frank was cast as Vera in ‘Eclipse’, Rosalie’s friend in her back story. Her part was eventually cut from the film. In an interview with Glamour (Germany) she talked about Rob.

Rough translation of the part where she mentions Rob by KstewRobFans :)

Glamour: Did you notice the Hype around that Robert Pattinson & CO.?
Sabrina: Yes, and how. It really is unbelievable that the fans will find all these locations. On my first day of shooting, we are driven into the middle of the woods, I would have never found this way – and when we got there, there were already dozens of fans waiting. I was completely shocked, but my driver said, the fans usually know already, which is rotated before it even know the driver. While it is all off and they do not come anywhere near the set, but for the fans is the greatest, when a car drove past in which they might sit Robert Pattinson! Read More…

Pattinson learns to run like hero

Robert Pattinson has revealed he had to train to run like a true action hero for new Twilight movie Eclipse.

The 24-year-old Hollywood heartthrob confessed to Reveal magazine his run in the first two Twilight films as brooding vampire Edward Cullen had been a bit weak, so he hit the treadmill.

Robert laughed: “I had to learn how to run properly. In the last two films, I ran in a limp/skip. I had to run more solidly this time so I spent a lot of time on a giant treadmill. It was like one of those things that mice run around in.”

Robert also had to brush up on his fighting skills for a scene with new co-star Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays villain Victoria.

The actor admits he used a body double for the most dramatic parts, but movie bosses were still impressed with his action moves.

Robert revealed: “Weirdly, one of the producers told me: ‘Wow, you look so enthusiastic in that fight scene. Much more than in any other one in the series’. It’s always hard to do stuff with Bryce because she’s the gentlest person and is always laughing. And she’s afraid of hurting me!”

There have been Internet rumors this week that Robert Pattinson may be jetting to India to participate in the July 30 premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

“Yes, it is time for all you girls to scream out loud,” declares The Times of India. “For one of your dreams might just come true very so

on.”

Given the huge Twilight following in Asia and thousands of requests from Indian fans to get him to Mumbai, the local Eclipse distributors “sent a petition to the film’s production studio in Hollywood to ask for his presence,” a request that “has been acknowledged and is being seriously considered.” Read More…

Here is a part of Stephenie Meyer interview with the fansites where she talks about the re-shoot of the tent scene.

From Twifans – You can read and listen the other parts of SM’s interview there :)

Kim: The re-shoot worked. It was great. The emotion that was in the book was in that scene.

SM: It was interesting, because the original script for it, I was fine with but then they tweaked the script because they felt like one part of the conversation got a lot more in depth in the original we kind of already knew. You know, you have the whole rehash when Edward’s talking about “when I first met her” and they pulled that and instead went with the later part of the scene where Jacob’s like “how did you cope?” And I think the emotionality of it just went through the roof.

Kim: The dialogue between Rob and Jake, I mean Edward and Jacob

Alison: And it was so long, and I loved how long it was

SM: Yeah! I love that they just let it happen. I think that, that was Rob’s best day of shooting.
It was so funny, did you guys hear all the rumors about the problems? Rob was only supposed to be there for the last day. The first two were Jacob and Bella scenes where the wig had been a problem. The last day was the tent was the tent and that was it & it was a pretty easy shoot. The only problem for that day was that Kristen had the stomach flu and luckily, she was supposed to lay there, but between every like scene, oh, she was so sick. And Taylor, he was over digging around, grabbing garbage cans. Why is Taylor taking the garbage? Takes them over there so she could puke in them.
It was so sweet. Everybody was taking care of her and everything, but it was a hard day. You look at actors and a lot of people are like “I wanna be an actor” it’s so hard and then to sit there. She’s wanting to puke and she’s all feverish, and she’s having to do the shivering. She was a work horse that day. That was our only drama was that poor Kristen got sick, and I think it was food poisoning. But it was a great shoot. It was one of those days where at the end you’re like “We really killed it today! It’s gonna be great!” It was a great day.
