Message boards and Twitter have been all atwitter about Robert Pattinson’s cover shoot for the March issue of Details magazine.

People are claiming the issue features a partially clothed Pattinson photographed getting “a lap dance,” being “straddled” by a woman,” and even standing while a woman on her knees simulates oral sex on him.

Gossip Cop has the REAL details about what’s really in Details.

First off, Pattinson is FULLY clothed in all of the dozen or so photographs. He’s not even shirtless in any of the pictures.

And there are no straddling shots. No lap dance shots. No simulated oral sex shots. None of it.

While it’s true the models are nude in some pictures, remember it’s Details magazine, so readers won’t be exposed to their details either.

Insiders tell Gossip Cop the photos are “super sexy,” yet “tasteful.” We also hear the pictures have “an Old Hollywood” feel to them. One source described the photos as embodying “1920s, 1930s Hollywood glamor.”

The Pattinson cover technically hits newsstands on February 23, but Gossip Cop is told some magazines will be available a few days earlier.

Gossip Cop would like to know in the comments section whether you’ll be picking up a copy of the Details cover featuring Pattinson.

How do you get a gazillion young people to help earthquake-devastated Haiti?

As you may have already heard, George Clooney is heading up a telethon on Jan. 22 to raise disaster relief funds for the Caribbean nation.

Pattinson, I’m told, is on the top of everyone’s list to take part in what will likely be an A-list effort…

Organizers, a source reveals, are aiming high and will be asking for Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to take part.

It’s too early to say what—if anything—the world’s most famous vampire movie stars will do, but a source close to Stewart tells me, “She’d jump at the chance to do something to help.”

That something may have to be pretaped. Stewart is scheduled to be traveling to the Sundance Film Festival at the time of the telethon to promote Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways.

Clooney first told my old pal Roger Friedman at the Hollywood Reporter that the telethon would take place on MTV. But as of this afternoon, I’m happy to report ABC, NBC, HBO and CNN have agreed to air it, too.

Here we go again.

Dozens of outlets are breathlessly repeating rumors that Robert Pattinson is the leading candidate to replace Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man.

You’ll recall that the story started as an April Fool’s prank later dusted off and published (without context) by the Oh No They Didn’t community. Gossip Cop busted the site and the speculation.

Just a few days ago, though, Sony announced that it would reboot the Spider-Man franchise, letting Maguire and director Sam Raimi go. And once it became clear that there will (eventually) be a new actor in the lead role, blogs anointed Pattinson. Buzz bubbled all the way up to the granddaddy of all cut-and-pasters, Perez Hilton, who trumpets rumors without checking them out.

Gossip Cop needs to step in.

Yes, there will now be a new Spider-Man, but Robert Pattinson is NOT set to take the part.

Pattinson is committed to a busy upcoming slate that includes Bel Ami, Unbound Captives, and a potential Breaking Dawn production. He’s been wrongly linked to projects ranging from X-Men to Yellow Submarine. The Spidey rumor is no more real.

We’ve spoken with sources close to the studio, which now needs to devise a new identity for the franchise, a new timetable, and a new script. Casting is not yet on the radar.

Any outlet stirring Pattinson into the mix does so with zero factual basis.

Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre (pictured) has told how Kevin Spacey taught her to Twitter – and says she still has to tell fans that Robert Pattinson “does shower”. Lefevre, who played evil Victoria in the first two Twilight movies, met Spacey on the set of their film Casino Jack.

She said: “We got talking about Twitter and Kevin said he had 420,000 followers. I asked him if it made him nervous, if he was giving too much access. Then he gave me a 20-minute talk about why he loves doing it. He said it helps communicate with the fans, how it helps let people know what he’s doing. He sold me on it. As anyone who has seen both “Daybreakers” and “Twilight” will tell you, there’s a night-and-uhhh… other night difference between their respective treatments of the vampire mythos. You might also expect that each story’s hero vampire — high-schooler Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and scientist Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) — are vastly different. Wrong. Despite the vast differences in tone between the two movies, the two Edwards are actually remarkably similar in some fundamental ways. Let’s delve a little deeper into the similarities, shall we? Readers beware: spoilers lie ahead for both movies. I won’t be spoiling any major twists for “Daybreakers” (there are a few), but if you want to remain entirely pure, you’d best wait until after seeing the movie to read this feature.

It’s All In The Eyes…
Let’s start with the most obvious: Cullen and Dalton both have striking golden eyes. Of course, the golden eyes in “Twilight” are the result of the Cullen family’s preference for animal blood over human blood (which we’ll get to in a minute). In the world of “Daybreakers,” a society in which vampires have become the dominant species, golden eyes are simply a fact of life. There are some great moments during the opening credits which highlight this, such as a shot in which Dalton is standing in a group of morning commuters. When the lights suddenly go out, casting everything in darkness, multiple pairs of glowing golden eyes are clearly seen shining through the murk.
